Overview

The Samana Peninsula resides in the Northeast corner of the Dominican Republic boasting many beautiful beaches, clear rivers that run into the Atlantic Ocean, long Rocky Coastlines, and distinctive Coconut Plantations. A pleasant warm climate with frequent winds and a cloudy sky and temperatures typically ranging between 70F° and 87F° make the peninsula a favorite of the tourists who visit the island on vacation. The peninsula is also famous among tourists and whale watchers because thousands of humpback whales migrate to its waters every year to reproduce. The Samana peninsula is also home to the Cordillera Samana, which is a thick mountain range with a dense spread of greenery, including over sixty types of palm. To top it all off, Samana has a rich history, having been occupied by many pirates as it was separated from the Dominican Republic’s mainland and replaced the place where water once flowed with a fertile flood plain packed with rice paddies. Overall, the Samana Peninsula is an appealing geographical site with gorgeous physical features, unique wildlife, and a rich history, making it a great place for everybody to get to know.
